Breaking: Senate Confirms Bawa as EFCC Chairman

After months of controversies and drama, bringing to an end the tenure of Ibrahim Magu, President Muhammadu Buhari has finally handed Abdulrasheed Bawa the baton as the new anti-corruption sheriff in town.

Bawa, aged 40, holds a B.Sc degree in Economics, and Masters in International Affairs and Diplomacy. 

THE Senate on Wednesday confirmed Abdulrasheed Bawa as the substantive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC).

The confirmation was a sequel to the question and answer session that lasted two hours where Bawa was asked questions from over 14 Senators at the Hallowed Chamber.

Bawa who  was ushered into the hallowed Chamber 11. 45am  by the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Bu
hari, Senator Babajide Omoworare, rounded off the screening at 1. 55 pm.

The confirmed EFCC boss has assured that he will discharge his duties without fear or favour and would lead by example.

He is now presently the Head of Operations of the Commission’s Lagos office.
